Ryan McCarty D.D.S.
Originally from Upstate NY, Dr. McCarty received her Bachelors of Science degree in Biochemistry from Binghamton University after working in a dental office throughout college. She knew she always wanted to help people in her future career and loved that she could combine her artistic talents while serving her community. Dr. McCarty is a graduate of the University of Maryland Dental School and has been practicing dentistry in Maryland for over 10 years. After dental school, she completed a one year advanced-training residency at Wilmington Hospital in Delaware where she received additional training in performing root canals, dental implants, and oral surgery. In addition to general dentistry, Dr. McCarty loves transforming her patients' smiles with cosmetic dentistry. She resides in Davidsonville with her husband Russell and their two daughters, Isla and Annie. In her spare time, Dr. McCarty enjoys “DIY” projects at home and camping with her family.
Rachel Smith D.M.D.
Dr. Rachel Smith was born and raised in Florida. She received her bachelors degree in Biology from the University of South Florida in Tampa. In 2012, she earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Florida College of Dentistry in Gainesville.
After earning her dental degree, she completed a general practice residency at Cambridge Health Alliance and the Harvard School of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA. While in residency, she gained comprehensive training in general dentistry , community health, and patients with special needs. After residency, Dr. Smith worked in a general dentistry practice in Florida before moving to Maryland in 2015 where she began working in long-term care facilities. She is focused on improving the oral health and quality of life of her patients.
Dr. Smith currently resides in Crofton with her husband Justin and their three children, Sophia, Olivia, and Ethan. She enjoys traveling, pilates, and spending time with family and friends.
Rufus Creekmore D.D.S.
Rufus Creekmore, DDS was born and raised in Suffolk, Virginia. After graduating high school, he attended Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia and received his Bachelors of Science and Master of Science degrees in biology. Upon graduation he worked as an Environmental Engineer for Ashland Coal from 1979 to 1982. Dr. Creekmore entered West Virginia University School of Dentistry in 1982 and completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in the fall of 1985.
In January of 1986, Dr. Creekmore and his family moved to Shady Side, Maryland and established a dental practice in 1987. Initially the practice was known as R. Creekmore, DDS then evolved into Shady Side Dental, LLC, in 2006.
Dr. Creekmore and his wife, Tina, live in Edgewater, Maryland. They have four children and seven grandchildren.
